Welcome to the Site
I have always wanted to write. At age seven, I began making little books to share with my family and friends and acting out the parts of the stories for my dolls and stuffed animals. My first choice of a career was in writing and journalism. Family and friends, however, discouraged me from doing so because they were afraid I could not make a decent living. My second love was traveling and foreign language. I took French, Spanish and German in college, majoring in French and minoring in Spanish. It was thrilling to travel myself and later to take students abroad for study. Although I loved that part of my life, I developed a fascination with the law, received a Juris Doctorate and became a practicing attorney.
The practice of law was very fulfilling; but after a long career, I decided to return to my first love – writing. I had satisfied my writing desire, in part, through writing for the California Law Review at Berkeley Law and drafting briefs as a part of my law practice. Writing well is a skill that is paramount to being a successful attorney. But I yearned to drop the formality and rules of legal writing and pursue my craft in a freer mental and creative space.
I am proud to introduce my latest release - an historical novel entitled An American Daughter of Brown. I have added a full page to this website which describes its contents. You may purchase this book through the link on the "Purchase Book" page on this website. I hope you enjoy it!
My first publication as a creative writer combines my love of travel, social and legal analysis and creative writing. I hope my readers will love
Cuba’s Guarded Promise: A SnapShot of a Country on the Cusp of Enormous Change and learning more about that country as much as I did.
